Which size is right? What measurements are needed for a new strap? A practical guide to choosing and caring for your bell or Treichel.<\/p>\n

First tell us the intended use, preferred style and, if available, a model for comparison.<\/p>\nModel numbers from different manufacturers cannot simply be equated. Actual dimensions and construction are more useful for comparison.<\/p>\n2. Information that helps you choose a bell<\/h2>\n\nModel and manufacturer:<\/strong> Photograph any existing inscriptions or markings.<\/li>\nDimensions:<\/strong> Show and measure the bell body and hanging loop separately. State whether the loop is included in any height measurement.<\/li>\nPhotographs with a ruler:<\/strong> Take clear front and side views, including the attachment.<\/li>\nSound and weight:<\/strong> If you like an existing bell, tell us which one as a guide.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n3. Find a suitable strap<\/h2>\nNeed a new strap for your bell or Treichel? Measure the buckle and the leather length of the old strap. Also check the bell\u2019s hanging loop. The images show where to measure.<\/p>\n\n\n\nStrap width:<\/strong> Measure the buckle\u2019s internal width. This determines the strap width: a buckle measuring 8 cm inside needs an 8 cm wide strap. Do not rely on the old leather\u2019s width, as it may stretch or change shape with use.<\/li>\nThe bell\u2019s hanging loop:<\/strong> The strap must fit through the opening in the hanging loop. Measure the internal width and height of that opening. If the strap covers it, remove the strap to measure. A photograph with a ruler helps us if you are unsure.<\/li>\nStrap length:<\/strong> Open the strap and lay it out straight. Measure only the leather, from one end to the other, excluding the buckle. Ideally, the strap should fasten using the middle holes, leaving room for adjustment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nWrite down the measurements.
